この度Feb gallery Tokyoでは、Ed TSUWAKIのペインティングの新作による「UNKNOWN RACES」を開催します。彼の描く”女性の肖像”はその時代のモードを纏いながら独自の発展をしてきました。「未知の種族たち」と名付け、その肢体とは異様に不釣り合いに見える頭部を持った女性(らしき者たち)を描き始めたEd TSUWAKI。「新しい美の姿」と彼は言います。新たなチャプターに入ったEd TSUWAKIの描く”肖像”をぜひご高覧ください。

Feb gallery Tokyo is pleased to present “UNKNOWN RACES”, a series of new paintings by Ed TSUWAKI. His portraits of women have developed in their own unique way along with the alternative fashions. This time, he has depicted individual portraits with graceful (women-like) bodies and enigmatic peculiar heads, called them “unknown races” which suggests Ed TSUWAKI’s “new form of beauty”. Please enjoy these portraits painted by Ed TSUWAKI, who has entered a new chapter in his work.

「メタバースが主たる人生の場となり、 仮想住空間の壁に飾られる絵の中の1枚になるのは、まだ少し寂しい。 リアルが現実でフェイクが虚構だと誰も証明できなくなってきた。 ヒューマン・エラーが愛おしい絵画、 今キャンバスに向かう動機のひとつかもしれない。 エレガントな肢体と異様な頭部の女性(らしき者たち)を描いている。 「UNKNOWN RACES」と名付けた。」

"If the metaverse is the primary place of life, it still feels a little sad to be one of the pictures on the walls of a virtual living space. No one can prove anymore that real is reality and fake is fiction. On paintings, human error is endearing. This may be one of the reasons why I am now facing the canvas. I am painting graceful (women-like) bodies with peculiar heads. I named them UNKNOWN RACES."

Ed TSUWAKI 1966年広島市生まれ。 1988年より東京を拠点に活動を始める。 首の長い女性の絵で知られる。 現在に至るまで国内外のモード誌、広告、 ブランドとのコラボレーションなど多数手がける。

Ed TSUWAKI was born in 1966 in Hiroshima. He has been based in Tokyo since 1988. Known for his drawings of long-necked women. He has worked on numerous collaborations with domestic and international fashion magazines, advertisements, and brands.
