「私がいま住んでいる地域の地形は約15万年前に形成されたらしい。 いつも何気なく見ている磯や山の風景は15万年分の時間が蓄積されているということだ。 その風景を描くならば、15万年という時間をいまこのときに重ね合わせて描かなければならない。 このような、現在とは異なる時間を含めたものの捉え方はまさに私の理想とする「眺め」というものの捉え方なのではないだろうか。」

"The topography of the area where I live now was formed about 150,000 years ago. The landscapes of the seashore and mountains that I see everyday have accumulated 150,000 years of time. If I were to draw these sceneries, I would have to superimpose the 150,000 years of time on the present moment. Such a way of perceiving things involving time different from the present may be my ideal way of perceiving a "view"."

この度、Feb gallery Tokyoでは、アーティスト黒坂祐(Yu Kurosaka)による個展「１５万年」を開催いたします。
黒坂の住んでいる地域の地形は１５万年前からほとんど変わっていないのだそうです。「１５万年」前、私たちはもっと世界を”フラット”に認識していたのではないでしょうか。そのように、すべてのモノを等価的に扱い、均質化して見るモノの見方を黒坂は「眺め」と呼びます。
いま、黒坂が眺める景色には「１５万年」という途方もない時間が堆積しています。黒坂は本展で「その途方もない時間を含めて描く」ということを試みました。黒坂の理想とする「眺め」というものの見方は、現在とは異なる時間を含めることで初めて達成されるのかもしれません。ヒトの知覚や認識をテーマに制作を続けてきた黒坂が、自身の絵画に「時間」という概念を導入したとき、その絵画はどのような一面を見せるのでしょうか。
本展では大型の新作を含む１５点ほどの作品を展示いたします。ぜひお越しくださいませ。
Feb gallery Tokyo is pleased to present "150,000 Years," a solo exhibition by artist Yu Kurosaka.
The topography of the area where Kurosaka lives has hardly changed since 150,000 years ago. At that time, 150,000 years ago, We may have perceived the world more flatly. Kurosaka defines such a state in which all things are almost homogenous as a "view". In this exhibition, Kurosaka attempts to include and depict that tremendous amount of time, 150,000 years in order to reach the ideal "view".
Kurosaka, who has been creating works on the theme of human perception and awareness, has been introducing the concept of "time" into his paintings, and we wonder what aspect of his paintings will be revealed.
This exhibition will feature about 15 works, including a new large-scale painting. We look forward to seeing you at the exhibition.

黒坂は明け方の薄暗くてモノとモノの輪郭が曖昧になる時間が好きなのだという。明け方の薄暗い時間の景色は、モノとモノの質がならされたようにのっぺりとしている。そのような風景を目の前にしたとき、色や輪郭によってモノとモノを「見分け」ようとする私たちの癖はほどかれていく。「見分けなければいけない」という強迫観念から、解放されたような気分にもなる。黒坂の絵画では、すべてのモノが明け方の薄暗さが包む世界のように、同質で均一であり、単体でかけがえのないものとして扱われている。黒坂は、均質にならされたモノの見方のことを、色や輪郭などで差異を強調する見方である「見分け」と対比して...つづき

Yu Kurosaka
1991年千葉県に生まれる。
2019年東京藝術大学美術研究科油画専攻第３研究室修了。
黒坂は自身の色覚特性（2型2色覚）をきっかけに多数派色覚に支配されてきた絵画とは全く異なる「色弱の絵画」の確立を目指す。
主な展示に2022年〈project N 87 黒坂祐〉東京オペラシティアートギャラリー、2019年〈荒れ地のアレロパシー〉/ 三越コンテンポラリーギャラリーなどがある。2019年シェル美術賞グランプリ受賞。
Born in Chiba, Japan in 1991. He completed his master's degree in the oil painting Department at Tokyo University of Arts and Music in 2019. Kurosaka's color vision deficiency (deuteranopia) has led him to pursue the creation of a new genre of art,"painting by color blind artists", which separates itself from the idea of paintings dominated by trichromatic color vision.
Major exhibitions include 2022 <project N 87 Kurosaka Yu>, Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery, and 2019 <Arechi no Allelopathy>/ Mitsukoshi Contemporary Gallery. He won the Grand Prix of the Shell Art Award in 2019.
